Dinosaur National Monument

So I never really knew how popular the Vernal and surrounding areas were for dinosaurs. But there are many museums and monuments to go visit.
The Dinosaur National Monument has just recently re-opened after 5 years for some structural repairs. We decided it would be fun to go see, and not to mention it was free.
I hadn't heard much about this place, and didn't know what to expect. So we took the shuttle up to this building, which I thought was weird. I guess I was expecting to go to a spot outdoors where they were just laying there in the ground. I obviously don't know much about these things. I didn't know that inside the building was a wall of bones stuck in the side of a cliff. It was pretty amazing to see all the bones.
It was a fun little get away, and the scenery was beautiful as well despite the cold and the clouds.

The rock formations around the monument were awesome.

Cloudy and cold, the day before it snowed!

Ride Up Nine Mile

Stetson has been working out in Nine Mile a lot, and he has always told me how beautiful it is out there. There was road construction going on up there when they were working and they closed the roads before they could come back the way they usually came. So Stetson and his crew had to come back a different way through East Carbon and Price. He told me if we ever had the chance to take a four-wheel drive truck, he would take me up there.
So Conference weekend we went to Price to spend General Conference with family. After the sunday afternoon session, Nanette and Bud let Stetson, Deidra, and I take their truck for a little ride.
I now understand why Stetson would only take a four-wheel drive truck. The roads were narrow, steep, and windy, but it was so worth it. The scenery was amazing with all the trees changing colors. It brought me back to the sunday rides we would take in Colorado.
Here are the pictures I took with my phone. I brought my camera, but it turns out my phone took better pictures than my camera...gotta love advanced technology. :)
We saw a small heard of big horned sheep

We got up to around 10,000 feet in elevation

General Relief Society Broadcast

I absolutely love this time of year! The leaves turning, the mornings getting chillier, the smells of fall in the air! With this time of year comes the General Relief Society Broadcast and General Conference.
Again this year we were able to get tickets from Aunt Marsha to go to the Relief Society Broadcast. I wish I could adequately describe my feelings when women of the church get together, especially the women in my family. It always brings me so much joy to be around my mother, sisters, aunts, cousins, and friends (It was so great that Tiffany was able to go with us this year, it was great to be together. It was also great to see Keitra and her mom, and Renae and the hispanic women in their ward) When we get together I am surrounded by love, the love of my family and of the Savior. We are women who are trying to do our best, who want to be taught, trying to understand how to be better and do better.

So as we walk the streets around and on temple square, I see all of these women with the exact same goal and purpose. I see these women from all over the world and I feel a connection and love for each one of them even though I may not know them. I pray that I can keep that feeling and expand that to the sisters in my ward.
Everything that was said in that conference was amazing! They talked on the book that was distributed to the women about the history of Relief Society. I have read a little bit of that book and it was amazing. I feel so weak compared to the sisters back then. They were incredible, their faith and sacrifices were incredible. I definintely have a lot to work on. :) The talk that got to me the most and probably to most of the women there was President Uchtdorf's. I loved the five points or "petals" of the Forget Me Not. I seriously want to put these on a board or something decorative to put on my wall in my home. I am going to share them now from my notes. They are not word for word :)
1- Forget Not to Be patient with yourself
2- Forget Not the difference between a good sacrifice and not as good sacrifice
3- Forget Not to be happy NOW
4- Forget Not the "why" of the gospel
5- Forget Not that the Lord loves YOU

Anyway, these are my thoughts, I wish I could do better and explaining. Oh well hope you enjoy! :)

Beautiful Women!

Sure love these girls!

I love my sister!

Labor Day Weekend

We had made no plans for labor day weekend since we didn't know what Stetson's schedule would be like. He came home on Friday and said that he had until Tuesday off, unless he heard something. So we took off to Provo Friday for a little date. We went to see his Dad and Carol for a little bit. They were both doing well. It is always great seeing them.
For our date we went and ate at Pizza Pie Cafe for free and then hit up the cheap theater. We watched Pirates 4 since we hadn't seen it.
We got back late, but it was nice to get away for the day, and it was fun and cheap.

Saturday we wanted to go out and do something, see something. Since Flaming Gorge is pretty close we decided to pack a lunch and head down there for the day. I had never been to Flaming Gorge, I had only ever saw the signs for it, but always wanted to go. We got there just in time for a tour of the place.

It was such a nice day!

Randomness

So we have been wanting to try a juice diet after we watched a show called Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. It was very interesting to see how juicing worked for these people. So we went to Wal-Mart, got us a juicer, and tried it out. We didn't get very far, but it is a work in progress. Instead of juicing three or four meals a day we decided to take it one step at a time, by doing it at least one or two meals.
Our first juicing experiance - it was pretty delicious. Oh and this was on our trip to Grand Junction. It was a little more difficult to do it in a hotel. Thank goodness Stetson had his pocket knife.
And of course I had to add something not as healthy to this post. These are yummy chicken roll-ups. I had to take a picture because they turned out so nice. Haha I know pathetic, but oh well.

Family Reunion - Morning Run

The reunion has come and gone. It was such a fun time. This was the first time we were altogether since...well I am not sure, but it has been a long time. And a special thanks to Renae and Scott and Tiffany and Justin for putting it together! You guys did great!
So I only have pictures of the morning run on friday. Totally forgot I even had these until I put other picutres onto my computer. Thanks mom for taking the pictures! And I love the fact that at one time or another, everyone was walking or running. It was great to see the kids get into it, chasing eachother and just enjoying running with the adults. We love and miss you all!
And the run begins
